Tenure / Promotion Process in Higher Education Survey Results
Welcome
"Traveling Along the Tenure Track" was a three-article series written for
the Phi Kappa Phi e-zine, Honor Cord.
The first two articles presented information intended to assist colleagues as they completed the first few years at a new institution. Articles I and II explored communication strategies, offered organizational tips and made suggestions for successfully completing annual and third-year (or mid-process) reviews. Since the information offered in these two articles stemmed directly from my experiences and research, I decided that the final article should offer information from a variety of sources. The survey was created to serve this purpose. By following the links on this page, readers will be able to view the survey questions and the resultant answers.

In
addition to replying to multiple choice questions, respondents were
asked for their opinions on a number of issues. The comments offered have been edited
for size and clarity.
I would like to extend my thanks to all educators who participated in
the survey. I know that your insights, suggestions and observations will
be invaluable to all who are still traveling along the tenure track.
Sincerely,
Dr. Liana Valente
